About
Mark Furst is a composer, producer, and audio engineer based in Stonington, Connecticut. His work spans original music creation, sound design, and post-production for film, television, branded media, and live performance. With decades of experience in both analog and digital domains, he brings a detailed, systems-minded approach to creative audio work.
Mark operates Eidolon Stead, a private studio focused on full-cycle music and media production. His toolkit includes Pro Tools, Cubase, Nuendo, and Bitwig, allowing for flexibility across a wide range of technical and creative workflows. He regularly works in both studio and live settings, most recently supporting a community orchestra and a progressive rock group as a recording engineer, mixer, and live sound technician.
His musical roots trace back to the late 1970s with a long-standing interest in synthesizers and electronic sound. Today, he maintains a curated collection of instruments spanning multiple decades, which informs his work in both cinematic and experimental contexts.
Mark holds a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Music Studies from Berklee College of Music, with a focus on composition, production, and media integration. He is an Avid Certified Pro Tools Specialist and a certified Trusted Partner Network (TPN) Site Assessor, bridging creative and cybersecurity disciplines in support of high-integrity content workflows.
He continues to evolve his practice through composition, collaboration, and mentorship, most recently serving as a summer mentor for Berklee’s on-campus undergraduate program.
